Mark Ashbolt presents Black & White Photography

On May 15, 2019, Mark Ashbolt presented an insightful program to Flagpole Photographers on black and white photography. Mark discussed the history of photography, which had its beginnings in black and white, and then went on to illustrate how black and white photos can convey a much stronger emotional presence than can be achieved in color. Black and white allows the shape, form, and patterns to be emphasized and helps to focus the viewer on the compositional elements without the distraction of color. Mark also offered tips for shooting black and white photos and on post-processing them. Thank you, Mark, for presenting this great program to our club!
