To commemorate our “2014 Annual Show” an annual exhibit opening reception will be held on May 18th , from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Olga Knoepke Memorial Room at the C.H. Booth Library in Newtown. With over 100 captivating photographs by our own Flagpole Photographers Camera Club members, please stop by to view the “best of the best”. The reception will allow visitors to meet the photographers and hear the stories behind their images. Enjoy food and beverage while viewing each print. All visitors can participate in the festivities by voting on their favorite photograph through the “People’s Choice Award”. Following the opening reception, all photographs will continue to be displayed from May 18th to June 12th. The exhibit will remain open during regular library hours: Monday-Thursday 9:30am-8:00pm, Friday 11:00am-5:00pm, Saturday 9:30am-5:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm-5:00pm. Flagpole Photographers is a local non-profit group that enables members to share their images and expertise, to learn and grow in their photography, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers. We come from diverse backgrounds, with photographic skills ranging from beginning novices to professional photographers. Our season runs annually September through June. We hold monthly print competitions at the C.H. Booth Library on the third Thursday of the month, except where otherwise noted in our schedule. Additionally, we have hands on learning programs that also occur at the C.H. Booth Library. All our meetings start at 7:30 p.m. All dates, assigned subjects, and programs are included in the schedule on our website Flagpolephotographers.com/events. In April we hold our Annual Exhibit at the library, where Images of the Year Awards are designated. Dues are $30 per person or $50 for a family membership. Students may join at no charge. Many of our members also participate in community service outreach projects.
Stop by and view the best of the best at our annual exhibit at the C. H. Booth library at 25 Main Street, Newtown, CT from May 18 to June 12. You will find the photographs on display in the Olga Knoepke Memorial Room on the first floor of the library. The exhibits is open during regular library hours: Mon-Thr 9:30-8, Fri 11-5, Sat 9:30-5 and Sun 12-5.

At noon on May 18 regional judges will award the following:
- Judges’ Best in Show
- Dave Kriger Nature Award – for the best nature category print which will be placed on permanent display at the library
- Jeannette Talarino Flower Award – for the best flower print
- Bruce Allen Open Print Award
- First, Second, Third place and Honorable Mention in the “Color” category
- First, Second, Third place and Honorable Mention in the “Black and White” category
- People’s Choice Award (as voted by visitors throughout the afternoon)
